In his weekly address on the Radio and Internet, President Barack Obama announced $1.85 billion in loan guarantees to Abengoa Solar Inc. and Abound Solar Inc. to fund the building of huge sun-powered facilities. They are supposed to create thousands of new jobs and help the U.S. transition to a “clean energy economy”. Abengoa will build the “world’s largest concentrating solar plant” in Arizona, which alone will create about 1,600 construction jobs. Abound Solar is to build two new plants in Colorado and Indiana that will create more than 2,000 construction jobs and over 1,500 permanent jobs. More Information at Abengoa and Abound.
