May 26th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Politics, Renewable Energy

According to a report by the German Magazine “Der Aktionär”, China has decided to invest 440 Billion Dollars in Renewable Energy Projects during the next 10 years. The use of Wind Power will grow almost 10-fold and Solar power up to 100-fold in the coming years.

Today China generates about 80% of its energy from coal, which is a threat to the environment and the global climate. The investment into renewable energy is supposed to lower the dependency on coal and will also be a boost to the Chinese Solar and Wind Power Industry that so far was depending mainly on exports.
